Tecom installer Perth for businesses running, or moving to, Tecom Challenger panels. We install new ChallengerPlus and Challenger10 systems, take over existing Tecom sites from other contractors, and keep them programmed, monitored and serviced across the Perth metro area and regional WA.
Tecom Challenger is the panel you find in a lot of Perth commercial buildings: offices, schools, warehouses, council facilities, retail groups. It runs intrusion and access control from one controller, scales from a single tenancy to a multi-building site, and tends to stay in service for a long time. Most of the Tecom work we do is on systems that already exist.
A takeover starts in the cabinet, not on paper. The first visit confirms which panel and firmware is on the wall, whether the installer code is available or needs to be recovered, how many zones and doors are actually wired against what the drawings say, and what the communicator is reporting to. Only then do we quote the work.
What a takeover usually includes: recovering or resetting programming access, re-pointing reporting to our monitoring centre or keeping your existing one, correcting zone names that still describe a tenancy layout from years ago, replacing a 3G-only communicator, testing every zone and door end to end, and handing you a documented system so the next person doesn't start from zero again.
Where Tecom earns its keep is a site that wants doors and alarm on the same controller: a card that disarms the area it opens, after-hours access that arms behind the last person out, reports that show who was in which area and when. We design and program that integration, including readers, credentials and door hardware, and connect the panel to back-to-base monitoring with duress and open/close reporting where the site needs it.
Sites that have outgrown Tecom, or want a different platform, are told so plainly. We also install Inner Range Integriti and Inception and Gallagher, so the recommendation is about the site, not the brand we happen to carry.
Tecom programming changes, user and card management, battery and siren replacement, false-alarm diagnosis and communicator faults are handled as single service calls or under a commercial maintenance agreement that schedules the checks so the panel does not fail on a long weekend. Every visit ends with the programming backed up and the change written down.
Yes. Most of the Tecom panels we look after were installed by someone else. We confirm the panel and firmware, recover programming access, re-point monitoring if you want it moved, correct the zone and door list, test everything, and document the system. If programming access cannot be recovered, we tell you before quoting a reset.
No. Monitoring and servicing are separate agreements. We can service a Tecom panel that reports to your existing monitoring centre, or re-point it to ours. Check your current monitoring agreement for notice terms before setting a changeover date.
For many Perth commercial sites, yes: it combines intrusion and access on one controller, scales across buildings, and has a long service life. For sites that need enterprise features, a different platform may suit better, and we install those too, so the advice is about the site rather than the brand.
Usually, yes. A panel still fitted with a 3G-only communicator has not reported since the networks closed. The fix is a 4G or dual-path IP communicator matched to the panel, then an end-to-end test to the monitoring centre. The panel itself is normally fine.
It depends on the panel, how many zones and doors are involved, whether it is a new install or a takeover, and what the communicator and monitoring arrangement is. Send us a photo of the keypad and the inside of the cabinet with a note on what the site needs, and we will quote it.
Panel model, roughly how many zones and doors, who monitors it now, and what you want changed. A photo of the keypad and the open cabinet answers most of it. We will quote the takeover, install or servicing from there.
