Does the UA Intercom work with existing door hardware?
In most cases, yes. The UA Intercom integrates with electric door strikes, magnetic locks, and gate motors via the UniFi Access hub. We assess your existing door hardware during the site visit and advise on any modifications needed.
Does the UniFi Intercom suit apartments with multiple tenants?
Yes. The UA Intercom supports multiple indoor UA Intercom Viewer panels, and calls can be routed to the correct unit. For larger residential buildings, each unit can have its own Viewer panel connected via PoE. We configure routing and naming during installation.
Is the UA Intercom weatherproof for outdoor use in WA?
Yes. The UA Intercom is IP-rated for outdoor installation and designed to handle rain, dust, UV exposure, and temperature extremes. It is well-suited to Australian conditions including coastal environments and Perth's summer heat.
Do I need an existing UniFi system to use the UA Intercom?
The UA Intercom works best as part of the broader UniFi OS ecosystem — running on a UniFi console such as the UDM Pro or Cloud Gateway alongside UniFi Access. We can install a complete UniFi system from scratch, or integrate the intercom into your existing UniFi infrastructure.
Can the UA Reader Pro replace the UA Intercom?
