Access Control Company Perth

Access control company Perth businesses can judge before signing: what to check on the licence, the brands a company can actually support, who turns up to do the work, and what happens after handover. Great White Security is a WA Police licensed security company installing and servicing access control for offices, strata, clinics, gyms, warehouses and facility managers across Perth, on all major platforms.

What the best access control companies in Perth have in common

Searching for the best access control company in Perth turns up directories and top-seven lists written by nobody who has stood in a plant room. The companies that do good work share a short list of traits that you can check yourself before a quote is signed:

  • Licensed under the WA Act, with a security agent licence for the company and installer licences for the people on site, both verifiable on the WA Police register.
  • More than one platform, so the recommendation is driven by the building rather than by the only product the company sells.
  • Their own technicians doing the design, installation and service, not a sales office that subcontracts the work and the responsibility.
  • Service after the install: credential changes, door faults and firmware handled by the people who built the system, under a maintenance agreement if you want one.
  • Honest about fit, including telling you when the cheaper platform does the job and when the system already on the wall is worth keeping.

Single-brand dealers and multi-brand integrators

A lot of Perth access control companies are dealers for one platform. That is fine when the platform fits, and a dealer knows its product deeply. The limitation shows when the building needs something else: a strata block that would be better on a browser-managed controller than an enterprise server, a 24-hour gym whose membership software dictates the controller, or a business that already runs Tecom and only needs two doors added.

We support all major brands, including Gallagher, Inner Range, Tecom, UniFi Access, HID, Genetec, Verkada and Bosch, and we take over systems installed by others. That lets us design around the building, the budget and whatever is already installed, and say plainly which platform we would put in and why. The brands page lists everything we install and service.

Who turns up

Our access control work is done by our own WA-licensed technicians, with more than 21 years in the industry behind the design decisions. The person who walks the site and writes the door schedule is the person accountable for the system working at commissioning, and the same team services it afterwards. We coordinate the other trades a job needs, from door hardware to mains power, and we remain the single point of responsibility for the result.

After handover

An access control system lives for ten or fifteen years and the building changes around it: tenants move, staff leave, doors are added, readers wear. The measure of an access control company is how it behaves in year three. We issue credentials, add doors, fix faults and keep firmware current, as single visits or under a commercial maintenance agreement that covers the cameras and intercom on the same site. Administrator logins are handed to you at commissioning, so you are never locked into us to make a routine change.

Questions to ask any access control company

  • What is your security agent licence number, and can I see the installer licences of the technicians attending?
  • Which platforms do you install, and which would you recommend for this building and why?
  • Who holds the administrator login after handover?
  • Are there ongoing licence or subscription fees, and are they itemised in the quote?
  • What existing cabling, readers and lock hardware can be reused?
  • Who services the system in three years, and under what arrangement?

Our answers are on this site: licence 79960, the platforms on the brands page, administrator access handed to the client, ongoing fees itemised, reuse assessed at the site walk, and servicing by the same technicians. This page is part of our access control Perth service, which covers the systems themselves.

Questions we get asked

How do I check a security company's licence in WA?

Security agents and installers in Western Australia are licensed by WA Police under the Security and Related Activities (Control) Act 1996, and the public licence register is searchable online by name or licence number. Ask for the company's agent licence and the installer licences of the technicians who will attend, and check both before work starts. Ours is 79960.

Do you do residential access control?

Our access control work is commercial: businesses, strata and apartment buildings, clinics, gyms, schools, warehouses and facility-managed portfolios. Strata and apartment common areas count as commercial work and make up a good share of what we do. For a single house, a locksmith or a smart-lock supplier is usually the better fit.

Can you work on an access control system another company installed?

Yes. We service, extend and take over Gallagher, Inner Range, Tecom, UniFi Access and HID-based systems among others, recover administrator access through the manufacturer's process where it has been lost, and tell you honestly when a controller is old enough that an upgrade is the better spend.

Are your quotes itemised?

Yes. Doors, readers, lock hardware, controllers, cabling, programming and any ongoing licence or credential fees are listed separately, with options where there is a real choice to make. You can see what is being reused from the existing system and what is new.

Do you install outside the Perth metro area?

Our day-to-day work is across the Perth metropolitan area. Multi-site businesses with regional WA locations and larger regional projects are quoted per project, usually alongside a metro head office or portfolio we already look after.

How much does an access control company charge in Perth?

There is no standard rate because no two door lists are the same. The cost is driven by the number of doors, the lock hardware each needs, the credential and reader type, whether cabling exists, the platform that suits the site and any ongoing licence fees. Send us the door list and we will give you an itemised quote.

Ask us the questions above

Send the door list, tell us what is already installed, and ask anything on the list. You will get an itemised quote, a plain recommendation on platform, and the licence numbers to check before anyone attends.
